Top Five Safety and Security Measures

Lighting:
Install "non-glare" lighting to your store and connected areas

Security shutters, and cameras:

Installing proper security doors and shutters will provide an increased sense of security and safety as well as protection from the weather.

Participate in Chicago Alternate Policing Strategy (CAPS):
Establish and nurture partnerships with the local CAPS to develop strategies to
resolve area concerns.

Support the SSA#69 Security Patrol:
Our private security patrol provides regularly scheduled runs in the business district, respond to business owner calls and concerns, and handle security related issues via an established protocol.

Advertise Store Safety and Rules on Conduct:
Post your safety and conduct rules in a highly visible location in your store. This helps customers know what behavior is accepted and expected in YOUR store and that they will be respected while shopping for your business. This helps to deter loitering outside your store, encourages appropriate dress (e.g. no shirt, no shoes, no service), or customers speaking loudly on the phone while being serviced.
