Safety and Security

Strengthening Safety Along Ashland Avenue
Welcome to SSA #69’s New Security Partner – Page Security, Inc.

In SSA #69, the safety of our businesses, customers, and residents is one of our top priorities. We are pleased to announce that we’ve partnered with Page Security, Inc., a licensed and experienced private security firm, to patrol and protect the Ashland Avenue commercial corridor. Page Security will conduct regular patrols, respond to incidents and business concerns, and follow professional protocols to address any safety-related issues. Their patrol vehicles will be clearly marked with SSA #69 decals, ensuring they are visible and recognizable to the community. In addition to this enhanced security presence, we continue to encourage business owners to adopt the following Top Five Safety and Security Measures that help create a more secure and welcoming business environment:

Top Five Safety and Security Measures
1. Install Quality Lighting
Use “non-glare” lighting to illuminate entrances, exits, windows, sidewalks, and parking areas. Well-lit spaces discourage crime and enhance visibility for staff and customers.

2. Use Security Doors, Shutters, and Cameras
Invest in strong security doors, shutters, and video surveillance systems. These not only provide added protection but can also reduce weather damage and insurance costs.

3. Participate in CAPS (Chicago Alternative Policing Strategy)
Partner with your local CAPS office and beat officers to build relationships and develop collaborative safety strategies specific to your area.

4. Support the SSA #69 Security Patrol – Now Powered by Page Security, Inc.
We encourage all business owners to engage with the patrol team. If you experience issues or need assistance, notify the SSA #69 Manager so appropriate follow-up can occur.

5. Post Store Conduct Policies
Clearly display your safety rules and conduct expectations in visible areas of your store. This encourages respectful customer behavior and helps deter loitering and other disruptions.
